      Yandaro | Burundi COE
The Yandaro coffee washing station (CWS) was built in the mid 1980s during a major round of investment made by the World Bank and other partners into Burundi’s coffee. This period saw the construction of +130 state-of-the-art coffee washing facilities all throughout the country. As a result of these investments, Burundi is one of Africa’s best-equipped coffee producing countries making it well positioned to produce high quality coffee.

Yandaro’s merits as a producer of exceptional coffee were highlighted during the 2012 Prestige Cup, Burundi’s pre-cursor to its Cup of Excellence competitions. That year the station won a “Presidential” placing meaning it ended the competition with a 90+ score. The station collects the cherries from surrounding micro plantations, each of which manages no more than 600 coffee plants that are placed under natural shade.

In the cup, this subtle coffee reveals a complex blend of chocolate, brown sugar, yet still maintains a bright acidity and a floral citrus finish; a unique cup indeed.

      Narino Colombia - Direct Trade

This coffee is drawn from the finest Colombian plantations in the department of Nariño, the country's southernmost province. We select only those coffees from high altitude farms that grow the Borbon and Caturra varieties and then process those to our exacting standards. The extra-large Supremo-size beans are sorted out for this trademark and sold as our "Proprietor's Reserve." In the cup you'll find complex flavors of raisin and rich chocolate, engaging acidity, a creamy and silky body, and a depth of character that only the finest Colombian coffees can boast.

      CULTIVAR: Bourbon, Caturra, Typica

This direct trade, Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee is imported from the Vasquez family farm (Finca Matarredonda) which is located 20 km's north of Pasto in the municipality of Chachagui - Narino Department, Colombia. Finca Matarredonda has been in the Vasquez family for over 5 generations now and is located in an area/elevation that is ideal for producing amazing Bourbon/Caturra variety coffees. The family pays special attention to this prized micro lot coffee that once picked, is de-pulped and sundried in parchment before eventually shipping it to the famous Empresas Narino for final milling and grading. All of the coffee is shipped in grain pro bags to protect its integrity and luckily because the harvest is almost year round in Narino, we receive fresh harvest shipments twice per year.

      Terra Firma FTO
Terra Firma meaning "Solid Earth" was originally developed back in 2007 for a customer that requested a medium/dark - Fair Trade, Organic coffee to offer to the students at their university campus. It took some time to find the right mix of coffees that would produce the flavour profile that we were looking for but after discovering a new Guatemalan FTO coffee on one of our trips to origin, the blend was born. Today it is one of our better selling FTO coffees because of its wonderful balance and notes of sweet dark cherries.

      Rocket Fuel FTO
As you can imagine, our Rocket Fuel - Fair Trade, Organic blend was developed with the intention to deliver a bold dark roast profile, for those coffee drinkers that like their coffee strong. The name was originally coined in early 2000 by one of our employees during a routine coffee tasting. During the cupping for this new FTO coffee blend, Ryan was the first to taste the coffee and his response was "wachuwanna kill me, that %$*t tastes like Rocket Fuel"! The name has stuck ever since. Although the blend has been tweaked over the years to take advantage of fresh harvest coffees, the coffee may be bold and strong but has a signature smooth finish that has made it our best selling FTO coffee for over 12 years.

      Reserve 3 Wheel Spro

Our Reserve espresso was originally developed back in 2001 but received a major overhaul in 2006 when we were approached to design a championship winning espresso for one of our customers. This customer went on to win the Western Regional Barista Championships in 2007 and placed 6th at the National competition later that same year. This espresso is blended from three different origins: our trademark Mutu Batak from Sumatra, our Trademark Brazilian Natural from Cerrado and our Trademark Colombian Finca Mattaredonda from Narino. We roast this espresso to a medium level to help further caramelize the sugars in the cup, helping bring alive the toffee and fig flavours. This espresso is noted for having a wonderful, creamy body and finishes with strong notes of dark chocolate with hints of Brandy.
